From Big Little Lies to Big Little Truths: Liane Moriarty’s Books Continue Their Amazon Bestseller Momentum
Liane Moriarty continues to capture readers’ attention as her bestselling novels Big Little Truths: Reese’s Book Club: A Novel: The Sequel to Big Little Lies and Big Little Lies achieve notable Amazon recognition. Big Little Truths: Reese’s Book Club: A Novel: The Sequel to Big Little Lies has reached #17 on Amazon Charts – Most Sold Fiction This Week, while Big Little Lies has achieved #1 Best Seller in Australia & Oceania Literature on Amazon. The two achievements highlight continued reader interest in Moriarty’s fiction while connecting a newly released sequel with the established success of the novel that introduced its world and characters.
Liane Moriarty’s Continued Publishing Recognition
Liane Moriarty is an Australian bestselling author whose novels have earned international recognition. Her published work includes Big Little Lies, The Husband’s Secret, Truly Madly Guilty, Nine Perfect Strangers, Apples Never Fall, and Here One Moment. Her books are known for bringing together complex relationships, family dynamics, suspense, and questions surrounding everyday life. Big Little Lies remains one of her best-known novels, while Big Little Truths marks Moriarty’s first sequel and returns to the story introduced in the earlier book.
The latest Amazon achievements place two books by the Australian bestselling author in the spotlight at the same time. For readers and the publishing industry, the connection is particularly notable because Big Little Truths is directly linked to Big Little Lies, allowing the newer title to bring renewed attention to the earlier novel while establishing its own presence among current fiction releases.
Big Little Truths Ranks #17 on Amazon Charts
Big Little Truths: Reese’s Book Club: A Novel: The Sequel to Big Little Lies has reached #17 on Amazon Charts – Most Sold Fiction This Week. The achievement represents the book’s current position on Amazon Charts and should be distinguished from its other recognition. The title is also presented as an Instant #1 New York Times Bestseller and a Reese’s Book Club Pick, giving the new release recognition across multiple publishing and bookselling platforms.
Published in August 2026, Big Little Truths: Reese’s Book Club: A Novel: The Sequel to Big Little Lies is the follow-up to Big Little Lies. Penguin Random House identifies it as Moriarty’s first-ever sequel and describes the novel as an exploration of modern women’s lives, family dynamics, shame, and long-hidden truths.
The #17 Amazon Charts position therefore represents a specific current achievement for Big Little Truths, rather than a general ranking across all Amazon books. Keeping that distinction clear is important when reporting the book’s performance and the different forms of recognition attached to the title.
Returning to the World of Big Little Lies
The connection between Big Little Truths: Reese’s Book Club: A Novel: The Sequel to Big Little Lies and Big Little Lies is central to the new book’s publishing story. The sequel returns readers to the world established by Moriarty in the original novel and continues the stories of its familiar characters. Penguin Random House notes that Big Little Lies and Big Little Truths are the exception to Moriarty’s largely standalone catalogue, with the two books following the same characters and intended to be read in order.
Without revealing major plot developments, Big Little Truths continues Moriarty’s interest in the pressures surrounding family and relationships. Its official description focuses on modern women’s lives, family dynamics, shame, and truths that have remained hidden. That thematic continuity gives the sequel a direct connection to the concerns that helped define Big Little Lies, while allowing the new novel to stand as a new entry in Moriarty’s body of work.
Big Little Lies Reaches #1 Amazon Bestseller Recognition
Alongside the Amazon Charts achievement for Big Little Truths, the current #1 Best Seller position in the Australia & Oceania Literature category represents Big Little Lies’ current Amazon category ranking. This achievement should not be presented as an Amazon Charts position or combined with the #17 ranking held by the sequel.
Originally published as one of Moriarty’s best-known novels, Big Little Lies has continued to maintain a visible place in her bibliography. The publisher describes the novel as a story centered on ex-husbands and second wives, mothers and daughters, schoolyard tensions, and the consequences of seemingly small lies. Its characters and themes helped establish the novel as a major work in Moriarty’s fiction.
The current #1 Best Seller position in the Australia & Oceania Literature category provides a snapshot of continued reader purchasing activity for the established novel. It also places the original book alongside its newly released sequel in the current publishing conversation, creating a direct link between Moriarty’s earlier success and the arrival of Big Little Truths: Reese’s Book Club: A Novel: The Sequel to Big Little Lies.
A Continuing Connection Between Readers and Moriarty’s Fiction
The simultaneous visibility of Big Little Lies and Big Little Truths: Reese’s Book Club: A Novel: The Sequel to Big Little Lies illustrates the ongoing connection between Moriarty’s established fiction and her latest release. Big Little Lies brings together mystery, relationships, social tensions, and complicated family dynamics, while Big Little Truths revisits those broader concerns through a continuation of the same fictional world. The publisher describes Moriarty’s work as examining the complexities of modern women’s lives, with Big Little Truths specifically returning to themes of family dynamics and long-hidden truths.
For readers discovering the series through the sequel, the relationship between the two books also provides an opportunity to revisit Big Little Lies. For longtime readers, the new publication offers a continuation of a story world that has remained prominent in Moriarty’s career. This connection helps explain why both titles are relevant to the current book industry news surrounding the author.
Reese’s Book Club and New York Times Recognition
Beyond its Amazon Charts ranking, Big Little Truths: Reese’s Book Club: A Novel: The Sequel to Big Little Lies carries additional publishing recognition. The book is a Reese’s Book Club Pick and is promoted as an Instant #1 New York Times Bestseller. These distinctions are separate from its #17 on Amazon Charts – Most Sold Fiction This Week achievement and should be reported individually.
The Reese’s Book Club connection also gives the novel an additional route to readers through a prominent book-selection platform. Its inclusion as a 2026 Reese’s Book Club title adds to the book’s visibility while reinforcing the connection between the sequel and the wider audience for Moriarty’s fiction.
What the Amazon Achievements Show
Amazon rankings provide a snapshot of current reader purchasing activity within specific lists or categories. In this case, the two achievements represent different measurements: Big Little Truths: Reese’s Book Club: A Novel: The Sequel to Big Little Lies is #17 on Amazon Charts – Most Sold Fiction This Week, while Big Little Lies holds the #1 Best Seller in Australia & Oceania Literature position.
Together, the rankings place both the new sequel and the established original novel in the spotlight, but they should not be treated as identical measures of performance. One reflects the Amazon Charts Most Sold Fiction list, while the other represents an Amazon category bestseller position. Reporting the achievements separately preserves the distinction between the two books while highlighting their shared connection through Liane Moriarty’s fiction.
America Publishers congratulates Liane Moriarty on the continued recognition of Big Little Truths: Reese’s Book Club: A Novel: The Sequel to Big Little Lies and Big Little Lies, celebrating their respective Amazon achievements and the continuing connection between these two titles and their readers.
